ALL STUDENTS MUST ATTEND FIRST CLASS OF ALL WOODWORKING COURSES TO RECEIVE EQUIPMENT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.This course is designed for students who are new to woodworking. It begins with the study of wood, its structural characteristics and its workability. This is followed by hands-on experience with hand tools, hand held power tools and the larger stationary equipment. In each session students are assigned woodworking projects that are intended to facilitate learning of a specific tool or woodworking process.Prerequisites: None Materials: $200.00

ALL STUDENTS MUST ATTEND FIRST CLASS OF ALL WOODWORKING COURSES TO RECEIVE EQUIPMENT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.In this course students learn and practice the various methods woodworkers use to join wood together. Types of joinery explored include: board and batten, mortise and tenon, dovetails, box joints, splines, biscuits joinery and wooden dowels. The many types of mechanical fasteners are also covered as well as the proper selection of wood glues.Prerequisites: Woodworking Fundamentals or equivalent Materials: $200
