Exemptions
Effective December 1, 2019, only Business Communications and Microsoft Office are eligible for exemptions towards the Professional Bookkeeper Certificate. All other program requirements must be completed at Langara Continuing Studies.
Students who completed an equivalent course to Business Communications or Microsoft Office through another Canadian post-secondary institution within the last five years, and would like to have those courses approved for exemptions towards the Professional Bookkeeper Certificate, can submit an exemption request. Submit a completed Exemption/Prerequisite Approval Form along with official transcripts from the institution where the equivalent course was completed.
Students who have not completed an equivalent course, but have acquired the skills and knowledge through learning experiences such as on-the-job training, workshops or volunteer work have an opportunity to have their skills assessed through exemption exams. Students who successfully complete the exemption exams will be eligible for exemptions towards the credential.
