Valentina Abanina

Valentina Abanina joined the Digital Media & Design program at Langara College in 2026, bringing 20+ years of experience in the creative industries, including a decade in higher education. Her work as a UX/UI and product designer spans websites, progressive web apps, SaaS platforms, and mobile applications for clients in the United States, Canada, and Hong Kong, across sectors such as education, professional services, finance, recruitment, healthcare, and small business. 

Another focus of her practice is designing AI‑assisted and agentic workflows to create efficient, data‑informed solutions that improve experiences for professionals and organizations. Valentina supports a range of design and development courses. In the classroom, she fosters collaborative, process‑oriented learning and shares her hands‑on experience with current design methods and tools, helping students experiment with new technologies, connect their design practice to real‑world industry expectations, and stay current with in‑demand skills.
