Over her remarkable 51-year tenure at Langara College (1974–2025), Susan taught a broad range of courses, served as the Recreation Leadership program coordinator and the department chair when it was still known as the Department of Human Performance and Recreation, and developed an applied learning initiative assessing community participants from infancy through adulthood. She devoted her career to advancing knowledge in development by pouring countless hours into her course material and sharing her expertise generously with students and colleagues alike.  Her innovative partnership with the Langara Daycare stands as a hallmark of her commitment to experiential education and community connection.

Beyond Langara, Susan also taught at UBC for over a decade, was a course conductor for the National Coaching certification program, and contributed to numerous community associations and boards, reflecting a lifelong commitment to physical literacy and inclusive well-being.
