Joining the college in 1989, Pari Ranjbary made history as the first instructor to hold simultaneous appointments in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics, before dedicating herself fully to Physics — a discipline in which she inspired thousands of students to pursue careers in science, engineering, and leadership. During her remarkable 36-year career at Langara College, Pari was celebrated for her exceptional teaching, innovative curriculum development, and authorship of comprehensive laboratory manuals. She served as Acting Department Chair and contributed meaningfully to faculty hiring and college committees in a leadership capacity. A passionate and outspoken advocate for equity and inclusion, Pari championed the success of women and Indigenous students in STEM throughout her career, fostering a more diverse and welcoming academic community.
