Objective of the Agreement

This Memorandum of Understanding ("MoU") establishes a collaborative pathway between Langara College’s Design Formation Department ("Design Formation") and the Centre for Digital Media (“CDM”) to support student mobility, professional advancement, and graduate education in digital media and creative technology.

This partnership is intended to create clear progression routes into CDM’s Master of Digital Media (MDM) program for qualified students and alumni from the Design Formation Department, with particular focus on the following programs:

• Design Formation
• Digital Media and Design 
• New relevant programs in the Design Formation department.

Both parties seek to leverage their respective strengths in applied education, industry engagement, and creative practice to develop mutually beneficial educational opportunities.

CDM agrees to provide the following opportunities for Langara Design Formation students and alumni subject to program availability and institutional capacity:

• Allocate up to 10 educational seats per intake for qualified Design Formation applicants admitted to the MDM program.
• Offer Pathway Partner Scholarships for qualified Design Formation graduates: Non-merit-based Pathway Partner Scholarships valued at $5,000 each.
• Offer Industry Professional Scholarships for Design Formation alumni who are established industry professionals, possess strong applications, and meet all eligibility requirements for the MDM program: Scholarship value and availability to be confirmed annually ($15,000 in 2026) and communicated to Design Formation.
