Department Scholarships
Langara College scholarships and awards are intended to recognize and support the outstanding achievement of our students. Scholarship and award recipients must satisfy all criteria specified by a donor, unless the donor agrees to waive those criteria.
Continuing Studies
Alexandra Marlene Integrative Energy Healing Scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding practice of the principles of Integrative Energy Healing and has contributed to the growth and learning of fellow students. Student must be enrolled in the second or third year of the Integrative Energy Healing Certificate Program. (Fall)
Amon Investment Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Continuing Studies Property Management Certificate Program. The recipient must have completed a minimum of three courses towards the program, and have achieved the highest mark in the Commercial Property Management course. (Summer)
Appraisal Institute of Canada Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in Continuing Studies courses complying with the credit requirements of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. The recipient must have completed a minimum of three courses towards the Real Property Analyst and have the highest mark in the Residential Construction course. (Summer)
B.C. Shopping Centre Managers' Association Scholarship is awarded to a student in the Continuing Studies Property Management Certificate Program. The student must have completed a minimum of three courses in the program and achieved a superlative grade in the Commercial Property Management course. (Summer)
Brian Pink Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of one of the Real Estate Certificate programs offered through Continuing Studies. The student must have achieved outstanding academic performance with a minimum "B+" average. Applications are available through Continuing Studies. The application must include information supporting his/her career aspirations/goals. (Spring/Summer)
Canadian International Freight Forwarders Award is awarded to three full-time students in the Continuing Studies Post-Degree Diploma in Supply Chain and Logistics program. The recipient must have demonstrated academic excellence in both the Introduction to Transportation & Trade and Essentials of Freight Forwarding courses. Students must be in good standing at the college and are only eligible to receive this award once. (Spring, summer, or fall)
CB Diets Scholarship is awarded to three students who upon completing the two-year diploma program, have achieved the highest cumulative academic standing in a calendar year. (Fall)
CPAEF Advanced Accounting Award recognizes students who registered part-time or full-time in their last year of study in the Diploma in Advanced Accounting. Recipients will demonstrate an interest to pursue a CPA designation after graduation, and demonstrate financial need. (Spring, summer, or fall)
Cushman & Wakefield Ltd. Valuation, Advisory and Tax Services Scholarship is awarded to a Continuing Studies student enrolled in Appraisal Studies courses complying with the credit requirements of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. The recipient must be working towards the Real Estate Analysis Certificate, have completed three courses, and have achieved the highest mark in Real Estate Investment Analysis. (Summer)
Dorset Realty Group Canada Scholarhsip is awarded to a student actively pursuing the Continuing Studies Property Management Certificate Program. The recipient must have completed a minimum of three courses towards the program, and have achieved the highest mark in the Residential Property Management course. (Summer)
Grover, Elliot & Company Scholarship (For UBC) recognizes students who achieve the highest standing in Real Estate Studies including appraisal courses.
Mandarin School Scholarships were created to recognize academic achievement and exemplary participation at each grade level in the Mandarin Heritage Language program. Eligible applicants must have been enrolled in the school for at least three years and have submitted a completed application form signed by a teacher who is making a recommendation for the award to the Mandarin School principal. Awards are decided based on: the highest grades, best attendance, and highest participation in both in-class and out of class activities that contribute to their personal learning and to the school's functions. Six awards for grades 1-6 in June and six awards for grades 7-12 in April.
Langara First Mandarin School Society Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the school for at least three years and present the highest grade, best attendance and highest participation both in and out of class activities that contribute to their personal learning and to the school’s functions. Candidates must submit a completed application form signed by the teacher who is making a recommendation for the scholarship. Awards will be made annually for each grade.
Lehomes Realty Scholarship awards academic achievements of students from the Trading Services Certificate program with the highest GPA and pursuing a career in real estate. (Fall)
Mario Pavlakovic Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in Continuing Studies courses complying with the credit requirements of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. The recipient must have completed a minimum of three courses in the program and have achieved the highest mark in the Real Estate Appraisal course. (Summer)
Penny & Keenleyside Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in Continuing Studies courses complying with the credit requirements of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. The recipient must have completed a minimum of three courses in the program, and have achieved the highest mark in either the Case Studies in Income Appraisal course or the Real Estate Mathematics course. (Summer)
Project Management Institute® Canadian West Coast Chapter Award is awarded to students who have successfully completed the Advanced Project Management Certificate within the last 12 months. The recipient must also have self-funded tuition throughout the program, have contributed and supported their cohort and demonstrated volunteer activities in the community, where the applicant has utilized their project management skills. Preference will be given to registered members of PMI®. Should more than one student meet the above criteria, the award will be given to a student with the highest GPA. Students are only eligible to receive this award once. (Spring, summer, or fall)
Real Estate Council of British Columbia Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in Continuing Studies Real Estate courses. The recipient must have completed a minimum of three courses, and be working towards either the Real Property Analyst Certificate Program or the Property Management Certificate Program. The recipient must have achieved an "A" level grade in Business Communications. (Summer)
Real Estate Institute Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Continuing Studies Social Housing Management Certificate Program. The recipient must have completed a minimum of three courses in the program and have achieved the highest mark in the Social Housing Management course. (Summer)
