Description
Students examine historical and contemporary perspectives on women as offenders, victims of crime, and professionals working in the criminal justice system (CJS). This course considers patterns of crime committed by and against women, as well as the systemic responses to these issues. Students reflect on the ways in which intersecting identities—such as race, class, and sexuality—shape women's experiences with the CJS, as well as the media's representation of women and justice.
Priority registration in this course is offered to students admitted to the Diploma in Criminal Justice, Diploma in Criminal Justice (BBA Transfer Option), and Diploma in Criminology.
