Description
Part of the versatility of High Performance Liquid Chromatography is the ability to use different samples, solvents, and HPLC columns for sampling runs. Students learn how to successfully prepare and run samples on the High Performance Liquid Chromatograph instrument to separate, identify, and quantify components of complex mixtures. Industries that use HPLC employ Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) to detail the specific requirements of the sampling process. Leaners focus on preparing samples and performing HPLC sample runs that meet that requirements of a modified SOP to reflect industry standards. This is a stackable micro-course in the High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC) micro-credential, where learners will learn to maintain the HPLC instrument, run samples, and analyze data.

Prerequisite(s): An “S” grade in CHEM 1610.
