Applied Analytical Laboratory Skills I - Safe Laboratory Practices

Fostering a culture of safety and excellence in the laboratory depends on the implementation of WorkSafe BC guidelines and OECD Good Laboratory Practices, as well as the disposal of waste material in accordance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and provincial regulations, promoting environmental responsibility and compliance. Students learn and practice the principles of safe and efficient laboratory operations and safe chemical storage and inventory maintenance, while gaining competencies to ensure a secure and organized lab environment.

Prerequisite(s): One of the following: a minimum "C+" grade in CHEM 1114 or Chemistry 11, or a minimum "C" grade in Chemistry 12.
