Convocation is all about you — our incredible grads! We celebrate the hustle, heart, and late-night study sessions that got you here. We’re cheering you on as you take your next big step. Be proud, stay curious, and go do amazing things. You've earned this moment.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2025!
Langara College’s 59th Annual Convocation Ceremonies will be held on June 17, 18, and 19 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in downtown Vancouver, or watch LIVE.

A momentous occasion.
Dear Graduates,
What an incredible journey this has been. Watching you grow, overcome challenges, and arrive at this milestone has been truly inspiring. I’m so proud of each and every one of you—congratulations!
Convocation is such a special day. It marks the end of one chapter and the exciting beginning of the next. I know it wasn’t always easy, but your determination and spirit carried you through every late night, tight deadline, and tough moments. Today, we celebrate not only your accomplishments but also your resilience.
As you move forward, take everything you’ve learned with you. Be bold, stay curious, and embrace new ideas. The world is full of opportunities, and you have what it takes to make the most of them.
You’re now part of a global Langara community. I hope your time here has shown you the power of learning from others and from diverse perspectives. Let that understanding help you shape a more inclusive, thoughtful world.
Remember, you’ll always have a place here. We’re excited to see where your path leads—and we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.
To the amazing Class of 2025—go out there and make your mark!
With pride and warmest wishes,
Dr Paula Burns
President, Langara College

We celebrate you.
On behalf of the entire Board of Governors, congratulations! This convocation is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and perseverance. It’s a moment we look forward to every year, and I’m honoured to celebrate it with you.
Your commitment to learning and your contributions have helped make Langara the vibrant and inclusive place it is. Today, we’re not just marking your achievements but also looking ahead to the bright future that awaits you. As you step into new opportunities, remember that your knowledge and skills can create meaningful change wherever life takes you.
As proud Langara alumni, you’re part of a community that reaches far beyond these walls. I encourage you to stay connected—through volunteering, mentoring, or supporting your fellow graduates. Your success is a reflection of the education and support you received here, and by staying involved, you help ensure the same opportunities for those who come next.
Please keep in touch—we’re excited to watch you grow and celebrate your future accomplishments.
All the best from all of us to all of you!
Warmly,
Mary Lynn Baum

Congratulations!
On behalf of Musqueam, congratulations to all the 2025 graduates, including our growing number of Indigenous students who cross the platform in these ceremonies. Your accomplishment reflects your hard work and talent, and we hope that you continue to contribute to snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓, your communities, and society after graduation. We wish you every success for your future. We trust that your time at snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ has helped to do just that and prepared you all for successful futures.
Our connection with snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ is reflected in the convocation ceremonies in a variety of ways. A Musqueam drummer opens convocation leading the procession; the president's regalia is adorned with musqueam art; and the river grass at the base of the College’s coat of arms, printed on every diploma and certificate and displayed at convocation, refers to Musqueam—xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, which means “people of the river grass.” We value our continued partnership with snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ and the opportunity to share a small part of our culture with you.
Congratulations from Musqueam.
It's tradition.
Academic Regalia
Traditionally, graduates, faculty, staff, and distinguished guests have worn academic regalia such as a gown, hood, and mortarboard at convocation ceremonies as far back as the 14th century in England. At Langara, our President wears our presidential regalia – a green gown with black and gold accents, and a black hood with white lining, gold trim, and green chevrons. The colours of the regalia are drawn from Langara's Coat of Arms. Members of the Langara Board of Governors wear our board regalia – a black gown with green panels.
Credentials Granted
Langara College grants a variety of credentials including bachelor’s degrees, post-degree diplomas, post-degree certificates, associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, and citations. Our graduates wear black mortarboards and gowns with either a hood, stole, or tippet to represent their credential.
