Services and Supports for Students

While we may not be on campus together, there are still many services and supports available to help you succeed:

  • Library services, hours of operation, and borrowing procedures for the summer are updated regularly. Please note that starting today, regular book return schedules and fines are in place. Books taken out before May 4th can be renewed online, or returned without any late fees

  • Students can still get research help through chat, e-mail, and one-on-one Zoom meetings with Librarians

  • Writing Centre and the Learning Commons will be offering online tutoring starting May 11th

  • The Learning Support Team has created a website and are offering online sessions for students to provide advice and refer students to supports that will be available to them during the summer semester. Students also have an opportunity for individual consultations after the sessions

  • The Langara Student Success Course (LSSC) prepares students for academic life at Langara and introduces them to key supports available virtually and on campus. It is a free online course for all Langara students

Students Residing in Other Time Zones

For students who are studying outside BC and in different time zones, we remind you that your class schedules, participation, and deadlines are the same as for students who are local to the College. You can use online tools to find out what time it is in your country at a certain time in Vancouver (Pacific Daylight Time, GMT-7). If you are studying outside Canada, please let your instructor know.

Taking Care of Yourself

A reminder that physical distancing guidelines are still in place, and that following them will help you and your loved ones stay healthy. For the latest updates on health guidelines, see our Health FAQs. Langara also has some Resources in place to support students which we encourage you to access.
