Before applying to Langara, review the programs that are available. We offer quality programs in Regular Studies and Continuing Studies and the application process for each is a little different. All the program pages include information about the credential you can earn, the duration of the program, specific admission requirements, program intakes, and curriculum details.

Step 1: Prepare your application.

Refer to the respective pages for detailed and up-to-date information on the required documents for your application.

Step 2: Apply to Langara.

Application and document deadlines.

We begin accepting applications 11 months before a program starts.

Applications and all supporting documents for undergrad programs must be submitted by the deadlines* outlined below (21:00 PST).

  • Summer 2025 (May–Aug): January 5, 2025
  • Fall 2025 (Sep–Dec): May 31, 2025
  • Spring 2026 (Jan–Apr): August 31, 2025

* Programs may become filled prior to these posted deadlines and without notice. To avoid disappointment, please apply early.

How to apply.

How you apply will depend on your program. See below for more information.

Full-time, Regular Studies programs must apply on Education Planner BC

Benefits:

  • Fastest for processing.
  • Education documents can be individually uploaded to support your application.
  • If you are applying to two programs, you only need to upload documents to the first program of your choice.

PLEASE NOTE

To add supporting documents after submitting your application, please email ieadmissions@langara.ca

Check the status of your application.

Log in to the Student Information System to check your application status and view outstanding requirements.

If you submitted your supporting documents with your application, there is no need to submit them again. If not, you may email your documents to ieadmissions@langara.ca. Note that documents will not appear on your account at this time. Be sure to check your application status regularly.

Now that you’ve applied to Langara, what’s next? See what more can be done after you apply.

Step 3: Accept your offer.

Receive an Offer of Admission.

After your application is processed, eligible students will be sent an Offer of Admission to the preferred email address entered in the Student Information System. Your offer will include a request to pay the International Student Deposit – a deposit that holds your spot in the program and will be applied to tuition fees in the first semester.

Effective for Spring 2024 and beyond, an Offer of Admission must be accepted within the timelines outlined below. Offers of Admission not accepted within these timelines will be withdrawn by Langara College.

  • Undergraduate programs: offers must be accepted within 21 calendar days of receipt.
  • Post-Degree programs: offers must be accepted within 14 calendar days or receipt.

Please read all the information carefully. Some programs will have a payment deadline to keep your seat in the program.

Receive Letter of Acceptance (LOA).

After the deposit is paid, an official Letter of Acceptance (LOA) will be issued and sent by email.

NOTE: As of Jan 22, 2024, every study permit application submitted to IRCC will also require a provincial attestation letter (PAL). Once you have received your Langara LOA, don’t forget to request a PAL letter. When you have a LOA and a PAL, you can now apply for a Canadian Study Permit

NOTE: On June 27, 2023, Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada introduced a new temporary public policy which allows eligible foreign workers, on valid work permits, to study without a study permit. Learn how this new policy may apply to you.

Step 4: Prepare for arrival.

We look forward to welcoming you to Langara College!

Depending on the program you will be attending, you will hear from a member of our team with information. In the meantime, read this information to get you ready for Langara.

IMPORTANT: If you are currently outside of Canada, do NOT book non-refundable travel until you have registered into courses. Travelling to Canada prior to registering into classes may impact your student status in Canada.

You will need to register for your courses before arrival. Our Pre-Arrival Guide provides more information about the registration process (see section 3).

NOTE: A lot of information will be coming by email, so look for messages from Langara in your inbox.

  • An international student coordinator will contact you by email with important information.
  • New students will also be invited by email to join orientation sessions at the start of each session (LEAP) and term (full-time programs).

There is plenty to do before you arrive in Vancouver. You can start by checking out the official Pre-Arrival Guide for a detailed resource on what you need to do and prepare before your travel.

And if you haven’t already, take some time to discover Vancouver!
