The Department of Publishing’s mission is to teach students the latest publishing technologies and develop a comprehensive knowledge of the goals, strategies and processes of publishing. Through a range of courses, the department helps students achieve creative excellence in design, graphics, writing, and editing. It provides intensive, hands-on publishing experience in a collaborative environment that fosters professional attitudes and personal integrity.

The faculty are highly experienced and come from the fields of writing, editing, design, production, and publication management. They have created books, magazines, corporate publications and websites.

Microcredentials are stackable and transferable educational opportunities for learners at any stage in their career journey to gain the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in Canada's future economy and workforce. They are stand-alone, short duration, for credit learning experiences that are competency-based and align with industry, employer, community, and/or Indigenous community needs.
