Description
Students trace the development of the Canadian Constitution, sources of Canadian law, including jurisprudence, divisions of law, legal institutions, doctrines of precedent and stare decisis, the rules and principles of statutory interpretation, and significant areas of substantive law. Students build the legal literacy essential for understanding how Canadian law is created, interpreted, and applied.
Priority registration in this course is offered to students admitted to the Diploma in Criminal Justice, Diploma in Criminal Justice (BBA Transfer Option), and Diploma in Criminology.
