Description
Organizational Behaviour combines business acumen with behavioural sciences to help predict how individuals and groups can create more effective organizations. Students examine the impact of individuals, teams, and structures on organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization’s effectiveness. Students study personality, perception, emotions, values, attitudes, diversity, and motivation, and then analyze how these impact teamwork, communication, power, politics, conflict, and negotiation in the workplace. From there, they consider how organizational culture, leadership, decision-making, creativity, ethics, structure, and change management influence organizational effectiveness. Students leave this course with a better understanding of themselves, others, teams, and organizations. Students also develop critical thinking skills to better analyze organizational challenges and develop problem-solving and decision-making skills to formulate and execute effective solutions and achieve intended results.
