Description
The Korean Peninsula has long been a geopolitical and cultural crossroads and is of increasing significance. In this course, students explore the historical and cultural foundations of Korean society and how they shape contemporary life in both South and North Korea. Students examine political, economic, and social transformations such as democratization and globalization, alongside cultural phenomena including K-pop, Korean film, and television drama. Students consider both Korea’s rise as a cultural superpower and its role in regional security.
