Privacy and Records Management
Privacy and Records Management provides the College with record-keeping policies and procedures that meet legislative requirements and follow industry best practices. It establishes retention timetables for department records and maintains a comprehensive information governance program. The department also provides practical advice, services and resources that assist all areas of the College to manage records in both paper and electronic format.
Privacy and Records Management is recognized as the institutional authority for all matters covered by Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy legislation. The department provides access and privacy advice to College departments and processes requests for access to information.
Access to information
Privacy and Records Management works with internal departments to process requests for records that contain personal or other information, responds to requesters on behalf of the College and ensures that disclosure conforms with provisions and timelines outlined in the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
The Privacy and Access Policy (B5001) defines principles and procedures for providing access to College records in compliance with the provisions of the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
