Objective of the Agreement

The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate the success of graduates of the College of the Rockies (COTR) Tourism and Recreation Management Diploma program who wish to pursue studies toward a Bachelor of Recreation Management (BRM) degree at Langara College. The intent is to alert students to opportunities for further study at Langara College and to streamline the movement of COTR graduates into the degree. COTR and Langara subscribe to the view that together we are well-positioned to build partnerships in education.

This agreement consists of the following elements:

1. Langara College will accept into Year 3 of the BRM graduates of the COTR Tourism and Recreation Management Diploma program, providing they meet all other entrance requirements and space remains in the BRM classes.
2. Langara College commits to counting any undefined transfer credits toward the BRM when it is appropriate to do so, so that COTR Tourism and Recreation Management Diploma graduates will not be obliged to take additional qualifying courses. In determining whether it is appropriate to assign such credit, the criteria shall be based on published program learning outcomes.
3. Langara College is under no obligation to admit any COTR student who does not meet Langara' s required standards or those of the BRM program, specifically.
