Understanding A VO2 Max Test

A VO₂ Max test is widely regarded as the most accurate method for assessing aerobic fitness. Our VO₂ Max testing service provides a high-quality, research-grade evaluation that is suitable for athletes, health-conscious individuals, and those interested in evidence-based training.

The test measures the maximum amount of oxygen consumed by the body when exercising intensely, which is a key indicator of cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Testing involves progressively increasing exercise intensity until exhaustion, while measuring oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production.

Testing is available using either a treadmill or cycle ergometer, and is run by Kinesiology Department staff members. For questions about fitness testing, please contact us at kinesiology [at] langara.ca (kinesiology[at]langara[dot]ca).
