As shared in fall 2025 by the Langara College Board of Governors, we undertook an independent review of the President’s performance.
Based on this review, the Board has confirmed there will be no change to her role. We believe Dr. Paula Burns will continue to provide stability for the College during this turbulent time in the post-secondary sector.
The Board recognizes this has been a demanding period for the Langara community and appreciates the time and care taken by faculty, staff, and students to provide feedback as part of this review. This collective input helped inform the Board’s deliberations, including the identification of opportunities where leadership across the College can be strengthened as we move forward.
Since President Burns began her term in June 2022, Langara has advanced several major institutional initiatives, including:
- deepening Langara’s partnership and collaboration with Musqueam
- securing significant government investments in priority areas, including Early Childhood Education and Nursing
- developing and launching the Future Focused strategic framework
- releasing Langara’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion framework
- launching LangaraFest, the College’s first open house, now held annually to support domestic student recruitment
We will continue to work with the President in support of the College’s strategic priorities and ongoing operations, and thank her for her continued service to the Langara community.
