Our Academic Advisors are dedicated to supporting admitted* students throughout their academic journey. Whether you need assistance planning your university transfer or navigating prerequisites, we can help you map out a clear educational path. Both drop-in and scheduled appointment sessions are available.
*Admitted students are those who have applied to and have been accepted into a Regular Studies program at Langara College and have a valid Langara Student ID number.
Please read carefully: You may not need to book an appointment to ask your questions. Refer to the common topics below to determine which session type best fits your needs.

Guidelines when attending our sessions
- Have your student number and questions ready.
- In a virtual session, use your real first name as your zoom display name.
- Please be respectful during the session. Advisors cannot override policies.
- Drop-ins are first-come, first-served.
- Limit of one drop-in per day during peak times.

Appointment Booking System (please read above first, before booking)
Appointments are booked up to 7 days in advance. If appointments are full, please try again the next day.
Newly admitted students in Regular Studies should watch the Registration 101 videos before booking an appointment (see below for link)
We also offer a limited number of in-person appointments in our office in room C-121

Course Planning
Effective course planning is essential for academic success. By thoughtfully choosing a combination of classes that match your goals, interests, and program requirements, you can set yourself up for a smooth educational journey. Careful planning allows you to account for prerequisites, determine how many courses to take each semester and maintain a healthy balance between school, work and other commitments. Planning not only helps prevent delays in graduation but also gives you the flexibility to adjust your path if your interests or academic goals evolve.
To create a strong course plan, follow a clear set of steps and seek guidance from an Academic Advisor when needed. Langara’s Academic Planner is an excellent resource to help you map out the courses in your program. It can give you a clearer idea of what to take each term and help you stay organized throughout your studies.

Catalogue Term.
The curriculum information in the Academic Planner’s program maps applies to the current catalogue term and is subject to change when there is a curriculum update. Students should always follow the curriculum associated with their program's start date (i.e. catalogue term). Students can confirm their catalogue term by contacting the Graduation Department at gradeval [at] langara.ca (gradeval[at]langara[dot]ca).
Course Access.
Admission to a program at Langara College does not guarantee registration in required courses. Students are responsible for confirming prerequisites and scheduled course offerings for their courses. Students may need to take one or more additional courses to meet the prerequisites of the courses required in their program.
Graduation.
The Graduation Department is the only department at Langara that can confirm when graduation requirements have been met. Students should reach out to book a graduation advising session when they are approaching program completion, usually in their second to last semester. Graduation advising appointments can be booked by emailing gradeval [at] langara.ca (gradeval[at]langara[dot]ca).
