Application Process

If you have a passion for music, we’re excited to welcome you into our intensive certificate program. Before you start your application, please review our admissions requirements to make sure you are eligible for acceptance into our program. To complete your application, you will need: 

  • A portfolio of original music / songs (as listed in the  Admission Requirements) 
  • A letter of intent / personal essay 
  • Academic transcripts 
  • Proof of English language proficiency (for all international students) 

See admissions requirements for descriptions of the different parts of the application listed above. Once you have the completed all the parts of your application, you can submit your application and pay your application fee.   

Application Fee 

All domestic fees are $40 CAD 
All international fees are $155 CAD   

Application Process 

Step 1: Submit your completed application form through the Continuing Studies Online Application and pay your application fee. Supporting documents can be submitted later in the Continuing Studies Applicant Portal. Access to the portal will be granted by email after your application is received. 
Please note: You cannot apply to this program through EducationPlanner BC (EPBC).  

Step 2: Our staff will review your submission, including a specific review of the portfolio by a lead instructor in the program.  

Step 3: If accepted into the program, a letter of Offer of Admission will be sent by email, after your application is approved and all documents have been verified. Allow approximately 7-10 business days for processing of your application. 

Step 4: Pay deposit* 

Step 5: Receive a Letter of Acceptance by email. The Letter of Acceptance will be issued after the tuition fees for the first semester have been received.  

Step 6: Apply for a Study Permit at the nearest Canadian embassy or visa office** 

Step 7: Report to Langara College for your first day of class. 

*Tuition fees of International Students are non-refundable and non-transferable for the first semester, unless study permit is declined by the Canadian Visa office.
