Summer Camps
Our camps are designed for the curious teen looking to see the world in a whole new light, with a focus on project-based learning and 21st century skills to promote creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.
Do you know a teen with a range of interests who is looking to explore their passions? Are they itching to discover new hobbies and develop new skills? We can help. Langara offers a wide range of one, two, or three-week summer camps for youth ages 10-16, except for the 'Artificial Intelligence and Me' and 'NextGen Makers' camps which are restricted to teens ages, 13-16.
Our camps are designed with a purpose in mind. Camps will focus on project-based learning and 21st century skills to promote creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. Whether through exploring the world around us, developing new sustainability strategies, or wild experiments, our camps are designed for the curious teen looking to see the world in a whole new light.

Explore the science of DNA, viruses, and big data! This interactive summer camp introduces students to bioinformatics, where biology meets computers. Through hands-on activities, campers will learn how scientists analyze genetic data, track virus mutations, and visualize evolutionary relationships. Discover the power of computational tools like BLAST, AlphaFold, and Nextstrain to unlock the mysteries of genomics and epidemiology. No prior coding experience required—just curiosity and a passion for science!

Be curious, be bold, be yourself. There is a new and exciting branch of theatre is being developed by young people creating their own work, based on their ideas experiences, passions, questions, and frustrations. This camp will help you develop your imagination, creativity, self-confidence, and empathy in a fun and expressive way. Participants will experiment and explore their stories and ideas, and develop them into emotional and physical performance pieces of all kinds: sketches, scenes, monologues, physical theatre, moments, spoken word, or stand-up while collaborating with a class of like-minded young performers. Please wear comfortable clothing for class.

Do you love science, technology, and hands-on projects? This camp is a perfect blend of creativity, sustainability, and coding! In the mornings, explore the world of chemistry and sustainability by working with dyes, plastics, and real-world environmental challenges. Learn how to separate compounds, create tie-dye art, and analyze the impact of microplastics.
In the afternoons, dive into Android game development! You’ll build your own memory-matching game using Kotlin, design game logic, and add interactive features. By the end of the week, students will leave with a fully functional Android game and a personalized tie-dye lab coat, along with skills in both chemistry and technology. This is an amazing opportunity to combine science and coding for an innovative and fun summer experience!
