Scholarships

The Biology Department has scholarships and awards intended to recognize and support the outstanding achievements of our students.

All scholarship and award recipients must satisfy the following criteria for general scholarships:

  • currently registered as a full-time Regular Studies student in the semester for which the scholarship or award will be received.
  • currently registered in a minimum of nine credits and in a minimum of nine credits in one of the past two semesters; students with a registered disability with Accessibility Services or Student Aid BC require to be registered in a minimum of six credits, instead of nine credits, to be eligible for scholarships.
  • enrolled in at least their second semester of study.
  • be in good standing at the College.

Additionally, recipients must meet any additional scholarship criteria specified by a donor; these criteria can be found under the description of each scholarship.

With the exception of the Vera A. McCreight Scholarship, no applications are required. Rather, all eligible candidates are considered and recipients are selected based on their academic achievement, as evidenced by their transcripts. To be considered for the Vera A. McCreight Scholarship, students must complete the application form found under the description of the award by the indicated deadline.

Please note that personal information may be shared with the scholarship selection committee members to confirm student eligibility for specific award criteria. If you have questions, please e-mail  jwoltosz@langara.ca.
