Course Description
Students explore the fundamentals of physical chemistry and organic chemistry, learning to predict and control chemical reactions important for biological and industrial processes. Topics include chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, equilibrium calculations, organic structure, and organic reactivity. Laboratories highlight hands-on experimental techniques.
A minimum "C-" grade in CHEM 1120; and one of the following: a minimum "C" grade in Precalculus 12, MATH 1152, 1170, 1171, 1173, 1174, or 1175; a score of 75 on the Langara Math Diagnostic Test; or a minimum C+ grade in CHEM 1118. Prerequisites are only valid for three years.
