Arshnoor Kaur: Building a foundation in health science.

Arshnoor Kaur earned an Associate of Arts in Health Sciences, a program that laid a solid academic groundwork for her future. "The courses were challenging but rewarding," she shares. "The instructors were so supportive and passionate about what they taught. They played a big role in helping me stay motivated." Arshnoor’s growing interest in public health led her to explore opportunities beyond the classroom.

At Langara, she embraced a wide range of on-campus roles including i-Guide mentor, Go Team volunteer, health science tutor, and tech tutor, among others. "These opportunities helped me feel part of the Langara community. I truly lived my journey to the fullest."

For future students, her message is clear: "Your journey at Langara is what you make of it — so my advice is don’t miss out on the opportunities that come your way while studying at Langara. Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to your instructors or use student support services—everyone is genuinely there to help you succeed."

Khushi Salwan graduated with an Associate of Arts in Political Science, gaining valuable skills in analytical thinking, communication, and research—foundations that will serve her in any career. "As I take the next step, I feel more confident in my ability to adapt, contribute meaningfully, and continue growing both personally and professionally.”

Reflecting on her time at Langara, Khushi highlights her involvement beyond the classroom. "Volunteering with the Langara GO Team allowed me to meet people from different walks of life and build meaningful connections," she says. "The growth I experienced, both personal and academic, has stayed with me."

Her advice for new Langara students? Don’t be afraid to explore. "Be open to exploring both academically and socially. It's okay to not have everything figured out right away. Get involved with student life, talk to your instructors, and seek out experiences that align with your goals, even if they're outside your comfort zone. Langara has so many resources and opportunities, but it's up to you to make the most of them. And most importantly—don't be afraid to ask for help. It's a sign of strength.”
