Provocateurs wanted! Do you enjoy thinking about what others say as much as they enjoy arguing their own views? Langara's Department of Philosophy invites you to attend Philosophers' Jam, a forum for the expression of provocative ideas.

Speaker: Kurt Preinsperg

In Canadian society today, do women or do men face more difficult obstacles in pursuit of a happy life? To grapple with this question, the presenter will offer a very tentative (and inevitably incomplete) list of men's and women's characteristic predicaments. The idea is to stimulate participants to come up with their own informed and balanced judgment.

Kurt Preinsperg is a Philosophy Instructor at Langara, specializing in Ethics and Existentialism. He loves Nietzsche and Martha Nussbaum, and is currently agonizing about the pros and cons of retirement.
