Parking

Lot Locations

The College provides parking facilities for students, employees, contractors, visitors, and the general public. Parking is available 24 hours a day in both covered parkade and surface parking lots, accessible from West 49th Avenue and Ontario Street. The campus also offers 46 electric vehicle (EV) charging stalls, with additional charging infrastructure planned for the future. Vehicles must not remain parked on campus for more than 24 consecutive hours. Parking rates, payment options, maps, and additional parking information can be found below.

Restricted Lots

Langara Students' Union Spaces:
Southeast of the library. LSU Decal Required		Accessible Parking:
Valid blue and white SPARC decal required. Pay parking remains in effect.		Carpool Parking:
Southwest of B Building and reserved until 10:00AM daily. Carpool Decal required.		Daycare Parent Parking:
Top floor of the library parkade. See signage for hour restrictions. Daycare Decal required.
Reserved Parking:
Southeast general lot. Reserved 24 hours. Reserved Decal required.		EV Parking:
Top floor of the library parkade and west of T Building. 4 hour maximum. Electric vehicles only.		Service Vehicle Parking:
Shipping and Receiving Lot and a row of stalls in the southeast general lot. Authorized service / trade vehicles only.		 
Street Parking:
Please note parking regulations on the streets around Langara. "Resident Only" permit parking is in effect between 44th Avenue and 56th Avenue and from Cambie Street to Main Street. If you park on these streets or at the Langara YMCA parking lot (unless you are using their facilities during that time), your vehicle may be ticketed and towed.

EV Charging

Langara has numerous Level 2 J-1772 EV charging ports (6.6 kW) on campus as part of the Plug in BC Program with support from the province of British Columbia and the Fraser Basin Council. These ChargePoint™ stations are open to both the college community and the general public. As part of a pilot project, they are available 24/7.

Locations:

  • 44 stalls on the top floor (P1) of the library underground parkade. The underground parkade is accessible from the south end of the library building, and the charging stations are to the left as you enter.
  • Two stalls across from T Building on the west side of campus.

The designated stalls are painted with a green EV Charging Station decal and are reserved for electric vehicles only.

Hours

Main Campus

Parking is available at Langara College 24/7.

Vehicles may be parked overnight, but may not remain for more than 24 hours. Any cars left beyond this limit are subject to towing.

Our security and Impark teams will be continuously monitoring all parking lots. Please note that the College is not responsible for any damage or theft to vehicles or their contents while parked on campus. 

Rates & Payment Options

Parking at Langara's Main Campus is operated by Impark through a license plate registration system. Simply enter your license plate number when paying at the meter. You do not need to display your receipt on the dash. 

You may also use Impark Pay-by-Phone by calling 604.662.7275 (PARK) from your mobile phone and following the prompts to pay for parking. Credit card and initial registration is required. Visit the Impark website for more information.

Daily Parking for the General Lot

Starting September 1, there will be an increase in parking rates across campus. Below are the new rates.

Weekdays 

  • Short term (per 1/2 hour): $2.25
  • 4 hours: $4.50
  • All day: $9.00
  • After 5:00 pm (flat rate): $4.50

Weekends 

  • Daily flat rate: $4.50

Violations & Towing

If you are parked in a stall without parking time purchased, and/or do not have your license plate setup with a valid permit, you will receive a violation ticket of $65.00 from Imperial Parking. If you do not pay the violation within seven (7) working days, it will increase to $85.00. After three violations, your vehicle may be towed or Imperial Parking will employ a collection agency to collect any outstanding amount.

Towing is immediate and without notice.

  • If your car has been towed from a Langara parking lot, pick-up is at Drake Towing (604.251.3344)
  • If your car has been towed from a City street, pick-up is at Buster's Towing (604.685.7246)
  • If you leave your vehicle in a restricted parking area, "No Parking" area, in a fire lane, or without a valid SPARC tag in a disabled space, pickup is at Drake Towing (604.251.3344)

Auto Assistance

If you are experiencing vehicle problems while parked at Langara, Impark offers the following complimentary services: fuel delivery, locked key retrieval, battery start, flat tire change, and will arrange for a tow (at the driver’s expense) if necessary.
