Description:
Objective of the Agreement
Langara College agrees to facilitate the admission of students who have completed all requirements (Table 1) at Columbia College and successfully complete all the bridging courses (Table 2) into Langara College’s Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics program, provided all other entrance criteria are met and space remains available.
Provisions
To complete the first 2 years of the Langara College Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics Program, students must complete the following:
- 17 BIOL credits
- 15 CPSC credits
- 12 CHEM credits
- 6 STAT credits
- 9 MATH credits
- 6 UT English credits
- 3-6 non-science electives credits
Minimum Lower-Level Credits: 68
Requirements for students to transfer into Langara College’s Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics from Columbia College, students must complete the courses outlined in Table 1 at Columbia College with a minimum Program Grade Point Average of 2.3.
Once admitted to Langara College, students must register into the bridging courses (Table 2) required for entry into the third year of the Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics.
Table 1: Students must complete the following courses at Columbia College. These courses are recognized on the BC Transfer Guide by Langara as noted in the right-hand column and are required courses in the first two years of Langara College’s Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics.

Math at Columbia College MATH 252 = LANG MATH 2362 (higher than requested).
Students admitted to Langara College with Columbia College MATH 252 will be exempt from MATH 2382 for the Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics.
