Expectations of Students
In addition to adherence to the standards of conduct set out in the Langara College Code of Conduct Policy, the Social Service Worker students are expected to adhere to the behavioral norms reflected in the British Columbia College of Social Workers' Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Students will study the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as part of the curriculum in the program. They will also participate in workshops on ethical decision-making. Students in the Program will receive a copy of the Guidelines for Students in the Social Service Worker Department when they enter the Program which will spell out in more detail the expectations of students in the Program.
All students must complete a criminal record check (CRC) in order to enroll in the Social Service Worker Program. The forms to complete the CRC are provided to the student by the College after he or she has been accepted.
