In this video tour of the biology labs, he highlights the importance of mentorship and hands-on learning in shaping student experiences and fostering meaningful connections within the Langara community.

Lab Demonstrator, Geoffrey Nemeth, has a deep connection with Langara College. He studied biology here before completing a bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of British Columbia. He credits his time studying at at the College for giving him an advantage after transferring to university.

In first- and second-year here, [students] can work with a lot of equipment that [they] normally don't get to touch at a university until about third- or fourth-year, or sometimes even grad school. So we're really lucky to have the opportunity to work with this equipment here at Langara.

Hear more about his unique journey back to the Langara–reflecting on how Langara shaped his education–as he takes us on a tour of the College's top-notch biology laboratories.

Mentorship and hands-on learning define Langara's approach to education; with smaller class sizes that foster connections with faculty and create a space where students can engage deeply with their learning. Nemeth’s story illustrates the lasting impact Langara’s community can have on students.
