Overview:

Thank you for wanting to share your time and skills with Providence Health Care. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities in hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living, rehabilitation and palliative care. As a volunteer, you are an invaluable resource to enhance the quality of care that we provide for patients and residents at all of our sites.At Providence Health Care, we have eight different sites available for volunteers – each has its own needs and opportunities. Volunteers are valued members of the health care teams at Providence. Every day, they make an immeasurable difference to the lives of our patients and residents. Our volunteers experience personal growth through helping others in their community.

 

Hospital Gift Shop Volunteer

Position Description:

To provide friendly support and service to customers, patients, visitors and staff visiting the hospital and gift shop.Gift shop is open Monday to Friday - Shifts options are: 10:30am to 1pm; 12pm to 3pm; 2pm to 4:45pm

 

Required Skills and Experience:

• Friendly, self motivated and outgoing• Able to communicate well in verbal and written English• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or in a team• Able to follow detailed directions and procedures• Able to work with a partner and train new volunteers• Courteous, mature and non-judgmental• Cash-handling experience• Able to assist clients who have physical and/or cognitive challenges• Able to assist and interact with clients active in addictions
