Applications for the Summer Semester 2023 are now open.
Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP)
The Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP) provides paid employment for students who demonstrate financial need. SWAP students work in various capacities on campus throughout the year.
To apply for SWAP, please complete the online application on the Langara employment opportunities page.

Please ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before applying:
- Enrolled in a minimum of nine credits at Langara (Students with permanent disabilities require a minimum of six credits and to be registered with Accessibility Services). This enrolment must be maintained throughout the term, in order to remain eligible.
- Have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 or above, and in good academic standing. First term students are eligible and are not required to meet this criteria.
- Demonstrate a financial need*
*If you are applying for SWAP and do not have approved student loans or grants for the term through StudentAid BC, you will need to attach the SWAP Budget Sheet to your application.
Note: A successful SWAP or WOC application does not confirm a job will be available. Hiring departments will reach out to students with eligible applications if a position becomes available. Students may also visit the C3 Job Board or contact departments directly for opportunities. Be aware that not all departments hire students. Students who apply will receive a notification of acceptance. If found eligible, they can work a maximum of 100 hours, with a schedule to be determined upon hire.
Work on Campus Program (WOC)
The Work on Campus Program (WOC) allows students to be employed as peer tutors or perform basic research at Langara.

Note: Hiring for SWAP/WOC positions for Summer Semester 2023 is limited to departments that have been pre-approved for hours by the Associate Vice-President, Students. Please contact dss.office@langara.ca with questions regarding approval.
