Student Work Programs

Applications for Spring Semester 2024 are now open.

Job opportunities are limited and not all approved applicants may find work in the current term.

In response to changes to College operations, SWAP and WOC students are currently able to work remotely (provided they are living in Canada while working for the College).

Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP)

The Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP) provides paid employment for students who demonstrate financial need. SWAP students work in various capacities on campus throughout the year.

To apply for SWAP, please complete the online application on the Langara employment opportunities page. If you are required to submit a budget sheet, please send the completed form to finaid@langara.ca to expedite processing.

*If you are applying for SWAP and do not have approved student loans or grants for the term through StudentAid BC, you will need to attach the SWAP Budget Sheet to your application.

To apply for WOC, please complete the online application on the Langara employment opportunities page.

How to Find Work

A successful SWAP or WOC application does not confirm a job will be available. Once you've received your email notification that you have been approved for work, there are a few ways you can find work opportunities at Langara:

  1. Log onto the C3 Job Board and search for jobs.
  2. Visit on-campus departments in the first couple of weeks of the semester or email them directly, but be aware that not all departments hire students.
  3. Departments may reach out to you if a position becomes available and your skills/experience align with what they're looking for.
