Description
Filipino food truly is the natural fusion food of Asia. The influences of Chinese, Malay and Spanish cultures all contribute to the delicious flavour profiles of traditional Filipino cuisine. In this course, we will cook together, laugh together and eat together in pinoy style! We will be cooking and eating popular party menu items such as chicken adobo, pancit (noodles), lumpia (spring rolls), kakanin (rice) desserts and barbeque liempo (pork belly). We will also cook dishes that highlight the uniqueness of the Filipino food culture, such as eating silogs for breakfast and understanding the concept of merienda. Finally, we will prepare and partake in a feast called kamayan where you will learn to eat with your bare hands!
