Academic Requirements

Domestic Applicants: BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent) or 19 years of age or older
International Applicants: BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent)

English Language Requirement

Category 1

Additional Requirements

1. One of the following:

  • A minimum "B" grade in Chemistry 12 or equivalent; or
  • A minimum "C+" grade in CHEM 1118 at Langara College.

2. One of the following:

  • A minimum "B" grade in Physics 12 or equivalent; 
  • A minimum "C+" grade in PHYS 1118 at Langara College; or
  • Physics Diagnostic Test results allowing registration into PHYS 1125.

3. One of the following:

  • A minimum "B" grade in Precalculus 12 or equivalent;
  • A minimum "C+" grade in Precalculus 12 and a minimum "C-" grade in Calculus 12;
  • A minimum "C+" grade in MATH 1170 at Langara College; or
  • A minimum score of 90 on the Mathematics Diagnostic Test.

Program Notes

  • Admission by diagnostic test scores is permitted only with departmental approval. Diagnostic test information is available on the College website.
  • Program preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated that they can handle a heavy course load.
  • Admission into the Certificate in Arts and Science (Engineering) is competitive; meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission into the program.
  • Admission to a program does not guarantee registration into required courses.
