The Art of Food and Beverage Photography Workshop

Learn how to create beautiful food and beverage shots with our 4-day photography and food styling workshop.

Through a series of lectures, presentations and hands on shooting over the four sessions, you will expand your skills in studio lighting, camera operation, food preparation, propping and styling.

Whether you want to explore a career in food photography, blogging or are looking to improve your existing skills, this workshop will provide you with the technical skills you need to make visually compelling images.

Instructor: Ross Durant

Ross is one of Vancouver's most accomplished food photographers. Shooting food for over thirty years, Ross has a highly stylized approach to both lighting and set design. Ross shoots for advertising, food packaging, and still life product work.

Represented by three stock photography collections of Getty Images for the past 24 years. He has sold food, beverage, people, and travel stock photography worldwide since 1997.

Ross is a graduate of the Langara Professional Photography Program and has taught Food and Beverage and Travel Photography courses at Langara since 1999.

Stylist: Lawren Moneta

Lawren Moneta has always had an appetite for food and life. From a young age she had worked to hone her culinary skills in professional kitchens. After graduating from formal culinary training at the Stratford Chefs School she traveled the world working in acclaimed restaurants and private homes.

After setting down roots in Vancouver, Lawren established her food styling company, Lawren Moneta Culinary Media. She has since worked with many top chefs, culinary celebrities and photographers, created unique recipes, taught cooking classes, appeared on television and continues to work as a lead Food Stylist for print and television campaigns.
