Vancouver, BC - Langara College has received a gold 2023 Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) at the council’s national conference last month in Seattle, Washington.
The award, for Social Media or Online Marketing Campaign, celebrates the college’s Strategic Communications and Marketing team for its work at the 2023 convocation ceremonies. The campaign involved a comprehensive sharing of information leading up to, during, and after convocation via Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other social platforms.
The campaign celebrated the achievements of Langara graduates, showcased the event as an exciting and unique experience to encourage current students to register for convocation, and inspires potential students to attend Langara College. It’s also an opportunity to honour the Graduate Award recipients for their accomplishments, and Emeritum award recipients for their contributions to the college.
“When you tell your college’s story well, you ensure your that students can find themselves, and the supports and services they need, at your institution,” said Jeff Julian, NCMPR’s 2023-24 president. “It’s evident in the winning entries that our members are committed to serving their students.”
The 2023 Paragon Awards drew 1,531 entries from 210 colleges across Canada and the United States, and was judged by 65 professionals from the marketing and public relations industry.
NCMPR’s Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design, strategy and communication at community and technical colleges. It's the only national competition of its kind that honours excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.
