Vancouver, BC - The Langara College Theatre Arts Program, Studio 58, will be well represented at the 2020 Jessie Awards on Monday, June 29. Fourteen graduates of the program have been nominated in various categories, including acting, direction, and set design. The 38th Jessie Awards will be streamed online via Facebook Live and Youtube.
“We’re always extremely proud of our alumni when they are nominated for awards such as this,” said Kathryn Shaw, Artistic Director, Studio 58. “Our graduates are major contributors to the theatre community, both here in Vancouver and across Canada. To be recognized with a Jessie Award nomination speaks to their talent, hard work and dedication to their craft.”
The nominations include two Studio 58 instructors: Mara Gottler (Outstanding Costume Design, Large Theatre) and Alan Brodie (Outstanding Lighting Design, Large Theatre).
The full list of Studio 58 graduates nominated for Monday’s awards include:

About the Jessie Awards
The Jessie Richardson Awards Society is a non-profit charitable organization that exists to celebrate and promote the outstanding achievements of the Vancouver Professional Theatre community by producing the annual Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards. The society was formed in 1997, and took over the production of the Awards Ceremony from the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance, who had presented it since its beginning in the 1982-83 season.
