Vancouver, BC – Langara College is pleased to announce the appointment of Moira Gookstetter as its new Director of College Advancement and Executive Director, Langara College Foundation. In this role, she will be responsible for the Langara College Foundation and providing innovative leadership and strategic vision for the development of a campus-wide culture and climate of philanthropy.

Gookstetter has over 20 years of fundraising and not-for-profit management experience. Previous to the Langara College Foundation, she provided strategic leadership for a variety of not-for-profit organizations as the Vice-President, ViaSport BC; CEO, Gymnastics BC; Executive Director, Millennium Sports Facility Society (Capital Campaign); and Director Fund Development, Sport BC.

“We’re very excited to have Moira on board,” said Ajay Patel, Langara’s Vice-President, International and External Development. “She brings a breadth of fundraising knowledge that will be critical in re-establishing and growing the Foundation’s philanthropic capacity and alumni profile.”

In addition to her not-for-profit work, Gookstetter is a committed community volunteer and a 2010 nominee for the YWCA Women of Distinction Award for her philanthropic work. She is a qualified Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds a Masters in Leadership from Royal Roads University.
