Vancouver, BC -- Langara College and the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) recently signed a memorandum of understanding that provides a seamless pathway for TDSB adult learners. The agreement offers newcomers to Canada or international students with a study permit or visitor’s visa currently attending TDSB adult high schools, ESL centres, or who are considering enrolling in a Canadian post-secondary institution, new opportunities to continue their post-secondary education.

"By establishing pathways with reputable post-secondary institutions like Langara, we will maintain our competitive edge in international adult education. Working together enables us to provide our international learners programming with clear learning outcomes," said Omar Awara, TDSB International Recruitment Manager.

Under the agreement, TDSB students who have completed secondary school education in Canada or elsewhere, as well as TDSB grade 11 and 12 English courses, are eligible for admission to Langara. This provides international students with a comprehensive pathway model not exclusively focused on English language proficiency.

“This agreement allows us to formalize our relationship in providing international students the opportunity to select Langara College as their post-secondary study destination,” added Ajay Patel, Associate Vice President, International & External Development.

As part of its strategic plan for internationalization and global education, the TDSB has committed to expand its international programming domestically and abroad.

The agreement further upholds and maintains the quality of education offered by Canadian providers from all levels in the international education market.
