April 2, 2015 – Langara shone a spotlight on scholarly activities being pursued by its faculty and students by holding a Scholarship Café. The event featured over 20 booths ranging from student lead marketing projects to faculty research into integration of simulation into curriculum.
“We’re very proud of the research being done by both our students and staff,” said Margaret Heldman, Dean of Science and the Chair of the Scholarly Activity Committee. “The turnout was great. It was wonderful to see how engaged our community was with the projects being presented. It bodes well for the future of research at Langara.”
The event featured projects from departments across the campus, including Nursing, Langara School of Management, Philosophy, Chemistry, Co-op Education, Sociology, Anthropology, Design Formation, and Interdisciplinary Studies. The Scholarly Activities Committee hosts two events a year, a Scholarship Cafe every April and a Research Showcase in November, to promote scholarly actvities on campus.
