Vancouver, BC - The Vancouver School Board (VSB) and Langara College announced this morning their plans to integrate the VSB’s Continuing Education program into Langara Continuing Studies. Under the agreement, Langara will assume the marketing, administration, and registration roles for 200 courses previously offered by VSB, and gain access to VSB facilities for course programming.

Starting fall, 2014, the combined offerings of the two institutions will total nearly 800 courses available in seven locations, including both Langara campuses and five venues managed by the VSB.

“We are very pleased to add the breadth of VSB courses to our programming,” says Langara President and CEO Dr. Lane Trotter. “Langara is always looking for ways to more fully serve the community, and with this agreement we become an even larger provider of life-long learning opportunities in the Lower Mainland.”

“We are excited about this new opportunity to partner with Langara’s Continuing Studies Department,” said Dr. Steve Cardwell, Superintendent of Schools for the VSB. “This new arrangement will allow the general public to benefit from the extensive organizational capabilities of Langara, and ensure that they can continue to enjoy the popular community interest courses that have been a part of the Vancouver School District Continuing Education for more than 100 years.”

Registration for the fall, 2014 term begins July 16th.
