Vancouver, BC - An impressive collection of graduate artwork will be on display at Langara College to mark the 43rd annual Langara Fine Arts Student Exhibition.
Approximately 150 pieces of art will be showcased, including a variety of drawings, sculptures, paintings, ceramics, prints, and digital designs. The collection, curated by a jury, reflects the extensive body of work that 41 graduating Fine Arts students have developed over the past two years. The annual student exhibition will kick off with a reception event on the evening of April 23. The art will then be on display for one week for the public to enjoy.
“Congratulations to graduates. They stuck with a program that requires many long days and sleepless nights and fought through the trials and tribulations of mastering various new and difficult media,” said Milos Campbell, Department Chair of Fine Arts. “During this process they defined their artistic voice. This exhibition and catalogue showcases a small part of each artist’s personal journey. We are so proud of you!”
The opening reception for the exhibition will be held on April 23 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the main foyer of “A” Building at Langara’s main campus. The event is free of charge and all are welcome. This exhibition is one of the main highlights of the Creative Arts Pop-Up Grad Gallery.
The Fine Arts Diploma Program at Langara is an intense study of visual arts and design, providing students with a wide set of studio skills, as well as the opportunity to specialize in one or more of the studio disciplines. The program is committed to promoting self-awareness and personal growth in art and design.
