Vancouver, BC – Langara is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Camosun College that paves the way for Langara Kinesiology students to complete a baccalaureate degree.

The purpose of the MOU is to develop and expand a framework of cooperation between the two institutions that will allow for students from Langara’s Kinesiology Program with the appropriate prerequisites to be admitted with third-year standing to the Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership Degree (BSFL) at Camosun.

“This is an exciting partnership that will support collaboration between Langara and Camosun, and create exciting possibilities for our Kinesiology students,” said Margaret Heldman, Langara’s Dean of Science. “We also look forward to expanding upon this MOU to explore future opportunities for working together."

The four-year BSFL program is run through Camosun’s Centre for Sport & Exercise Education, based in Victoria, BC, which offers innovative programming that combines sport, fitness, and wellness with management, science, and leadership.

The Kinesiology Program at Langara is a two-year university-transfer program that allows students to continue towards the completion of a degree in disciplines such as human kinetics, physical education, kinesiology or other interdisciplinary studies. Studies include exercise physiology, functional anatomy, sport psychology, biomechanics, and sports medicine.
