Vancouver, BC – The Langara Board of Governors is pleased to announce that Mr. Roy Daykin has been appointed President of Langara College, effective immediately on an interim basis. His term appointment will run until the position of President and CEO has been filled on a permanent basis.
“We are confident that Langara will be well served by Mr. Daykin’s leadership during this interim period,” said Board Chair, Anne Lippert. “Mr. Daykin has significant senior administrative post-secondary experience and his current knowledge about Langara places him in an exceptional position to lead the institution during his term as President.”
"I am sincerely honoured to serve Langara in this capacity," Daykin said. "I look forward to working with all members of the College community to build on existing plans for the continued growth of Langara.”
Daykin has over 30 years of experience in the post-secondary sector. He joined Langara in 2010 and most recently served as the College’s Vice-President, Administration and Finance.
A Presidential Search and Recommendation Committee will be struck in early 2013 to facilitate the search for a new President and CEO.
