Vancouver, BC – Today, Dr. David Ross announced his resignation from the position of President and CEO at Langara College, with his last day on campus being March 1, 2013.

David was appointed Langara’s second President in the Fall of 2008. His accomplishments have positively positioned the college on a provincial, national and international level. During his tenure, the College developed its first Strategic Plan, launched a brand which has received international recognition, increased student enrolment levels, and embarked on a strategy to develop capacity for research and innovation within the institution.

“David has advanced the College to a new level with his leadership marked by integrity and vision,” said Board Chair Anne Lippert. “He has an unwavering commitment to the provision of, and access to, quality post-secondary education. On behalf of the Board, it is my pleasure to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to David for his leadership and to convey best wishes for continued success and happiness to him and his family.”

In a communique to the College community distributed earlier today, David Ross noted: “It goes without saying that it has been an honour to be your President. I am also humbled by the outstanding people that I have worked with and consider themselves Langarans. From this, I look forward to hearing about new achievements and continued success that I know Langara will enjoy.”

A search and recommendation committee will be established to recruit for a new President.
