Vancouver, BC - Langara is pleased to announce that it has joined the Eduroam program, a facility to allow students, faculty and staff to gain wireless Internet access at Eduroam-enabled locations across Canada and the world.

Eduroam is a secure, world-wide service that offers its users access to wireless Internet at any institution connected to the program. It was developed to allow members of the educational community to gain Internet access when visiting different campuses using only one login.

By joining the program, Langara students and employees no longer need guest login information when visiting other Eduroam-enabled campuses – such as UBC, SFU, BCIT, UVic and McGill.

Similarly, visiting students and staff from other Eduroam enabled campus are now able to access the Internet via WiFi from the Langara campus using their home institution network credentials.

To login to Eduroam, all you need is your Langara network user ID and password (The one you use to login to computers on the Langara campus), and a Wi-Fi enabled device.

Your network user ID to access Eduroam whilst visiting another campus will be the same as your Langara computer login, with the addition of our institutional domain – for example, userID@langara.bc.ca. Your password will be the same as the one you use to login to Langara’s computers.

More information, and a full list of Eduroam-enabled locations, will be coming soon to the IT website. For technical support and assistance, please email ithelp@langara.bc.ca or call 604 323-5999.
