Vancouver, BC – The Langara Falcons, one of Canada’s most successful collegiate sports teams, is on the hunt for a new logo to represent its athletic department, following a recent college-wide rebrand. Students, professional graphic designers, and artists are all invited to submit their best creations by March 1, 2011. Winner will receive $1,000 towards Langara tuition or an Apple iPad.

The top design will be immortalized on all Falcons’ uniforms, apparel, merchandise, gear, and promotional materials.

“We are very excited to see the forthcoming creative logos and are appreciative for people’s interest and participation,” says Jake McCallum, Acting Director, Athletics and Intramurals at Langara College. “The Falcons represent a legacy of sportsmanship and athletic excellence. We expect the new look will match our passion for winning and higher achievement in all aspects of sports and education.”

A proud member of both the British Columbia Colleges' Athletic Association (BCCAA) and the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA), the Falcons consistently field strong teams in badminton, basketball, soccer. Athletes include decorated soccer goalkeeper, Loren Lidin, up and coming basketball player Elliot Mason, and badminton player Pierre Tang. The college also offers competitive intramural play.

Accolades in the past three decades include 159 Provincial Championship Titles, 22 National Championship Titles, 18 Provincial Aggregate Trophies, and 69 CCAA All-Canadians awards.
