Latin American Studies and the Latin American Student Association present:

Day of the Dead – Día de Muertos
October 28–November 3, 2024

On the Day of the Dead, Mexicans celebrate the lives of the dead by visiting gravesites of their ancestors and creating alters that honour loved ones who have passed.

Oct 28–Nov 3rd | Altar | A Building Foyer

Students and staff can interact with a Day of the Dead / All Saints Day altar to remember loved ones who have passed away.

Oct 28–Nov 3rd | Iconography Display | A Building Foyer

We will have a display of the artwork of José Guadalupe Posada, Mexican graphic artist (1852-1913) whose lithographs of skeletons continue to be extremely popular in Mexico and around the world.

Oct 31, 12–12:30pm | Musical Performance | A Building Foyer

Enjoy live Mexican music and some Pan de Muerto cake, a special Mexican treat that is served only for Day of the Dead.
